APPLE PIE

Delicious apple pie recipe using a homemade double crust.

Ingredients

  • 6 Cups Apples, thinly sliced
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • ¾ tsp Nutmeg
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Double pie crust (see recipe on this site)

Instructions

  • Combine apples, sugar, flour, and spices in large mixing bowl.
  • Mix well and place in unbaked bottom crust.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Place top pastry on top and cut 4 slits.
  • Brush with a mixture of 1 egg yolk and 2 tbsp water.
  • Bake at 400 degree F. for 45-50 minutes. Cool on cooling rack.
